Not sure what’s causing stains, odors, or health concerns?
Explore common water issues we see across Maryland and learn how Hague treatment systems can help.
Rust-colored stains on sinks, toilets, and laundry are a common sign of iron in your water. Iron can discolor fixtures and leave clothing looking dirty even after washing.
If you’re seeing slimy brown buildup and your water softener isn’t working properly, iron bacteria may be the cause. These bacteria can foul plumbing and treatment equipment.
Blue or green stains and pinhole leaks in copper pipes often indicate acidic water. Low pH water can slowly corrode plumbing, leading to costly repairs.
A strong rotten egg smell usually points to sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in your water. While not always harmful, it makes water unpleasant for drinking, bathing, and cooking
Certain bacteria in well water can cause gastrointestinal discomfort and health risks, especially for children and older adults. Testing and proper treatment are critical.
Hard water leaves chalky white residue on faucets, showerheads, dishes, and appliances. Over time, scale buildup reduces efficiency and shortens equipment lifespan.
Municipal water often contains chlorine, which can cause a chemical taste and odor, dry skin, irritated eyes, and brittle hair after showering.
Common in agricultural areas, nitrates and nitrites can contaminate well water and pose serious health risks—especially for infants and pregnant women.
PFAS are man-made chemicals linked to long-term health concerns. They persist in water supplies and require advanced filtration to effectively remove.

Debrah Moyer The service was excellent!! They were very experienced and friendly!! James Jaseph Nice man, Ronnie performed duties quickly, courteous and polite. Answered questions thoroughly and very nice, excellent service year after year Ian Ingersoll Hague did an excellent job on the last service call. Quick response time, fast work and great dialogue with the service techs. Would strongly recommend to anyone that has a water treatment system. Harold M. Ford, Sr. Excellent service and very professional. Susan Winterbottom Hague technician was on time, clean, efficient performed each area I was concerned about. Hague is reliable and trustworthy. Gordon Calvert Hague representative was knowledgeable, onetime for the appointment, and arrived at a reasonable solution to address my concerns Amber Miller This company has been amazing from the start! We have one of their units at my office and the water taste so good! I can definitely tell the difference. So after about a year of having Hague water service at my office I decided I needed it at home too. I wasn't sure how we were going to make it work due to the lower cabinet hight and limited space. So I called the office and they set me up with Tim Edwards to come over take a look and give me some suggestions. Tim was awesome! He knows his stuff for sure. He explained their different systems and was able to help me pick which water cooler that would work best for my families needs and a spot to put it. After figuring out/planning the logistics I was set up for the install. Hague didn't just deliver by sending me Tim to explain and go over options but they sent me Tommy who did my install! Tommy was awesome too! He explained everything he was doing and educated me further about the benefits of Reverse Osmosis. Both were extremely professional and easy to talk too. I will be recommending them to anyone and everyone. Edward Cochran Great Experience all around. Paul was a pleasure during install and Mark was experienced in the field. Thanks also to the ladies in the office who patiently answered my frenzied questions. Thomas Hudson When we called on a Monday about very low/no water pressure, the best they could do was to get to us on Thursday. We called again to ask to be put on a cancellation list, and got moved to Wednesday, so the response time was on the slow side. When the tech arrived on Wednesday, he could not have been more helpful, adjusting valves and filters expertly and explaining what he was doing as he went along. We've used Hague for our 90-year-old house and its complicated water setup (well, pressure tank and other related devices) for at least 25 years. Knowledgeable, helpful, reasonable prices, friendly service.
